Introduction

Our client, a homeowner in Cornwall, was in the final stages of renovating a residential property. They needed urgent vent testing to ensure compliance with Part F of the Building Regulations, which relates to ventilation and air quality in dwellings. The client contacted us with a tight timeline, requesting a quote and testing to be completed within three days. In this case study, we explore the same-day contact of our relationship managers and the attention to detail from our trained engineer to complete Ventilation Flow rate testing.

Our team faced the following challenges:

  1. Urgent Request: The client's renovation project was nearing completion, and they needed a quick response to ensure compliance with Part F of the Building Regulations.
  2.
  3. Compliance Concerns: The client was uncertain if the existing ventilation system in their property met the required standards for airflow and air quality.
  4.

Our team, comprising the client relationship manager, logistics coordinator, and compliance engineers, sprang into action to address the client's request within the tight timeline and worked to find availability in their busy schedule to complete the vent testing.

Working together, they were able to complete the quote request on the same day as receiving the enquiry from the customer. Once the quote was accepted, we confirmed the provisional booking in our engineers' calendar with our logistics coordinator to complete testing within the required timeframe. Once a date was confirmed, the booking confirmation email and a handy checklist were sent to the client, so they were best prepared for the trained engineer's arrival. This enabled a smooth process on-site and meant our trained engineer could answer questions from the client regarding how the test was conducted.

Our trained engineer measured the actual airflow rates at various vents, ensuring they met the recommended standards for different rooms within the property and complied with Part F as set out under Building Regulations.

With no issues reported on-site, the trained engineer sent the passing certificates to the client relationship manager back at the office, and they were issued to the client by 12 pm the day after testing. A 5-star Google review was then left for ATSPACE thanking the team involved in the quote generation, booking the test, and the on-site engineer for helping them swiftly work towards their deadline
