It all started in 2002, when I had an itch to scratch in the world of property. By leveraging credit from my cards, I got the kickstart required to purchase my first property for redevelopment. By refinancing and structuring my small business, I slowly started growing my little empire.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, whichever way you look at it, the credit crunch took full swing. I had lost money on a small single plot, and it was this first realisation that I had my eggs in one basket and needed something else. I knew I wanted to stay in construction and enjoyed helping fellow developers and industry professionals achieve their goals. I was fully informed of new technologies and sustainability, so using that knowledge, a small sole trader called A.T Solutions (air testing solutions) was born. Unfortunately, due to the credit crunch and cash flow, I lost the van equipment, and the course I booked onto was all paid for by credit. Nevertheless, this only made me more determined, and so the journey began.

All the gear and no idea how to get business. It was slow game due to the climate; many sites were empty. I can’t count how many times I could walk into a building site with no one present leaving my business card on the floor. Persistence and many miles covered over England and Wales, and lots of nights in lay-bys on my fishing bed chair trying to get some shut eye, I started building my clientele.

After a few hard lessons in business, but with a clear goal in mind, I wanted to become the leading compliance company. With some business coaching and determined mindset, I forged a limited company and now have an amazing multi-disciplined team, which I’m proud to be called ATSPACE Ltd.

We have the highest 5-star reviews than any other compliance company and are still forging strong relationships and friendships with our customers.

Growth is mainly from referrals and word of mouth, and I am extremely grateful for our involvement with major house builders, including Taylor Wimpey and Hills Partnership, as well as our partnerships with architects, compliance partners and other industry professionals.
