U-Values are designed to measure the elements of the building’s fabric for heat loss. Essentially, they need to be assessed to find out how effective they are in preventing or stopping heat from transferring between inside and outside of a building.

Ideally, you want your U-Values to perform well as insulators, so the lower the U-value, the better. This means there is less energy needed to keep your home comfortable.

U-Values don’t have to be complicated. They are here to measure the heat loss through the building's fabric. The reason why we have to assess U-Values is to ensure that they perform to, and above expectations with regards to the effectiveness of preventing or stopping heat from transferring inside and outside the building.
