To know how to improve your results, you need to know exactly what the SAP does.

Essentially your SAP will calculate the energy efficiency of your build. To do this it will evaluate various aspects of your construction including:

  • •  The materials used

  • •  The windows

  • •  The Doors

  • •  The lighting used

  • •  The different systems installed.

Your SAP can also evaluate any energy efficiency measure you have put in place. These will all help towards a better SAP result. It's common sense, the more efficiency you build, the better your SAP rating will be.

There are ways to improve your SAP results, such as:

  • •  Installing better heating systems

  • •  Building air tight

  • •  Installation of renewable technologies

  • •  Increased insulation

What you have to remember is your EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) is produced from your SAP. The better your SAP, the better your EPC.
