The EPC is also referred to as the Energy Performance Certificate. You will need to ensure that you have an up-to-date EPC if you're looking to rent out your property or if you're looking to sell.  

An EPC will last for 10 years, this is for both commercial properties as well as residential. In commercial builds, you have to display your current EPC document.  

The results of your EPC are given from A-G, with A being the most efficient. If you find your build doesn't fall into the category you'd like, you can take steps to ensure your build becomes more energy efficient.  

The more energy efficient your home is, the less you will pay for your monthly bills. Also, the more energy efficient your build is, the lower the impact on the environment, meaning the less carbon emissions are expelled.
