Why Are U-Values Important? 

 U-Values, as with other building compliance, give you insight into the energy performance of your build. To build correctly, you need to ensure that the energy performance of your construction is the best it possibly can be.  

U-Values will consider the materials you're using in your build, as well as the windows, the floors and even down to the bricks. There are many aspects which can affect your U-Value result. By knowing what your U-Value results are, you will know how effective your build is at preventing heat loss.  

If you have a low U-Value, this means you have a slower heat loss, meaning it will retain heat much better. This can lower your energy bills, and ensure that your carbon emissions are also lowered simultaneously.  

A building which is well insulated will not only lower the bills and reduce your carbon footprint, as stated above, it will also provide a much more comfortable living environment. By maintaining the standards set out in the building regulations, you will ensure that your build will not only regulate the temperature in the summer, but also maintain the heat in the winter.
